What significant gay person in American history has being educationally 'ignored' because of being gay?

Liberace. i think it is pathetic that people use uality as a clification or even separate history. It is a bit like the Americans when they have Black history month which only encourages the separation of history thus people. We should just have history and if the person is gay straight or bi who cares. The last thing i think about while reading history is or people's ual orientation unless it is absolutely essential to the person's identity.
