God used to tell me things, too. I heard Him talking to me in my head. Then I was diagnosed with schizophrenia and put on medication to make the hallucinations stop. Your friend needs some psychiatric help. I will definitely keep him (and you) in my prayers. I've been through it. I know how hard it is.
