If i delete someone from my yahoo IM contacts list, can they still see me when i sign in as invisible?

or do I appear as 'offline' to them, like I do to contacts still on my list? I sometimes get IMs from people no longer on my contacts list even when I sign in as invisible, as if they 'know' I'm online
