Need advice from those who've felt lazy, unmotivated, and stuck in a rut before.?

Hi Kim, It certainly sounds more like you have fallen prey to a depression and not just a slump or unmotivated..You see depression takes from us, and takes and takes until we have nothing left and all to often people make the grave error in judgement and believe they are doing this to themselves, continuing to blame their self for something they no longer have control over..This is called denial and often it is our own pride because we do not want to believe we have an illness and would rather believe we have control, when we have in fact lost all control..I would suggest you see your doctor and discuss this with her/him and a counsellor and start putting what you are really feeling out there to deal with......As much you may believe there is no work for you or only a dead end job, this type of thinking keeps you oppressed too..Even having a job at MacDonald's is worth it because it is not just about the job/money, but about having something more in our life that helps us to feel good about our self, that we are contributing positively to our mental and physical health. Having responsibilities and other activities motivates us, it gives us daily exercise, a social network of people and friends, it keeps us to busy to dwell on the needless and foolish little things and keeps us off the pity pot that we may be on, to say nothing of a little bonus spending money that we have earned for our self..... What do you want and need deep within you? What can you do that will contribute to the betterment of your mental and physical health, because both are in danger right now? You are a person too, not only a house wife/home-maker. You also have needs and wants that are not being met and it is up to you alone to meet these and put some balance in your life....In any case it is your decision to make, but I would first talk with your doctor and be clear of how you are honestly feeling, what has put you here, and what can you do to get out of this rut and/or depression...Take care, I hope there is something here you can and will think about that will be a help to you breaking free of this shell... It's time to start caring about you....
