Of mice and men: Lennie's comparison to a lamb?

In Christianity, Jesus is considered the "lamb" as a sacrifice for humans sins. In the Jewish faith in the old testament, a lamb was needed to atone for the sin of the people because Jesus the "Messiah" had not come yet. Lennie was only seeking to help people in Of Mice and Men. He was innocent as a lamb until he killed the woman by smothering her. He didn't even realize it. Lennie was sacrificed as a lamb was. She is probably drawing a comparison between Jesus and Lennie, although I don't think it is a very apt one.
